Dear friends,
Many of you have been enquiring about our plans for the Golden Jubilee meet during 2016. I had been going slow on it as it seemed premature to plan very early for something that was to take place in late 2016. I think the time is right now for us to start interactions so some key issues could be settled in the near future.
Location:
· As a start, I am forwarding a mail from Vinod on behalf of the Jaipur team offering vicinity of Jaipur as a possible location. Access is very convenient and it could allow some of us to take a day trip to Pilani (immediately after the get together) as that has been the input from some of us who have never been to Pilani after 1971. Vinod and the team could pick up a relatively secluded resort with nice surrounding – water body, green area etc – and as our emphasis is really to have good time together, this could serve the purpose. Downside is that a lot of us have been to Jaipur umpteen times! But Jaipur team could still work out an exciting array of visits and events.
· Dubai has been suggested - combining with Global Meet, 2017 but it could be at a time when Dubai could be very expensive and it could limit participation. Also, many of us do not see much value in combining with Global meet – particularly those who have attended one of the two Global meets in the past.
· We could look at northeast but connectivity etc could be big issues.
· Suggestions are very welcome for any other beach / green resort / location with relevant facilities and infra-structure etc.
Timing:
· General suggestion for Jaipur is October – before Deepawali as accomm
