Prof. G. Sundar appointed BPHC's next Director as Prof. V. S. Rao leaves Dear BITSians,   With a heavy heart, I regret to inform you that Prof. V.S. Rao would soon be leaving on July 15, 2016, to take up a new position with NIIT University, as President & Vice Chancellor after serving BITS Pilani for over four decades. Throughout his long, dedicated, and meritorious service to BITS, as a Teacher, Researcher, and Administrator, he has served with distinction as his career trajectory demonstrates. He was also appointed Acting Vice-Chancellor in 2015. He was extremely passionate about BITSAA & BITS his alma mater and has been closely associated with it. While working with BITSAA he has always lent a helping hand, providing useful insights, supporting all our initiatives and establishing BITSAA globally.   Further, I am glad to inform you that Prof. G. Sundar will succeed Prof. V. S. Rao as the Director, Hyderabad campus. This appointment is in addition to his current role as the Director Off-campus Programmes & Industry Management. Prof. Sundar has been with BITS Pilani for close to three decades and has served with distinction in various roles. He obtained his Master's degree in Chemistry from IIT Kanpur and his Ph.D. (Chemistry) from Cornell University.   Prof. Sundar's deep understanding of, and belief in, rigorous academic processes and in the importance and benefits of industry engagement and research, will hold him in excellent stead in this new, additional assignment. I extend a warm welcome on behalf of BITS & BITSAA and assure to provide complete cooperation and enormous support during his term as the Director of Hyderabad campus. Please join me in wishing Prof. Rao and Mrs. Rao success in all future endeavors of Prof. Rao's career and in wishing Prof. Sundar all success in his new, enlarged role.
