You will head the Delhi crowd for this meet provided you rope in those who never made it like, Deepak Dhawan, His friend chikna , Tarun Bhakshi, Ashok Jayaram ( I have failed to attract him ) , Tony Bhandari, deep Kapuria ( living model and body builder ) though I know you are enjoying Dehradoon weather , Nehrus adopted home town ( Though all of that family is converted to Gandhi ) , I don't know why that happened. I don't know if Mahatma Gandhi is still blessing them?. .I know you are the neibours of leading lady from Congress belonging to Hishiarpur of Punjab.
Our next meet is in Nov16 or Jan 17 , being the Golden jubilee meet . Suggested places are Jaipur/ Pilani ( optional for a day ), interiors of Rajasthan . Delhi/ Pilani. Please respond with any alternate suggestion giving your vote and support where ever is finally decided as the group. I am expecting 90 families leaving me( l will join only you guys join ). Ram cc to Alok Goyal and Deepak manchanda- both of you lost the deal for Delhi now. silence will not help.

Dear Madhav , Dec is not the right time at pilani as they have semester exams and BITS may find it difficult to host us . Hence Nov or Jan may do. But then it will be winter and we have to be heavy carrying full winter clothes. Further people who wish to extend their tour may find it difficult in Jan time. Let us wait and take all opinions before we finalize.Few have indicated Delhi & Pilani as a choice also. Some have felt 2 days at pilani meaning over night stay also. I am in touch with BC on all these matters now so that best and most popular view will be final. Regards, Ram

Dear friends,

Many of you have been enquiring about our plans for the Golden Jubilee meet during 2016. I had been going slow on it as it seemed premature to plan very early for something that was to take place in late 2016. I think the time is right now for us to start interactions so some key issues could be settled in the near future.

Location:

·        As a start, I am forwarding a mail from Vinod on behalf of the Jaipur team offering vicinity of Jaipur as a possible location. Access is very convenient and it could allow some of us to take a day trip to Pilani (immediately after the get together) as that has been the input from some of us who have never been to Pilani after 1971. Vinod and the team could pick up a relatively secluded resort with nice surrounding – water body, green area etc – and as our emphasis is really to have good time together, this could serve the purpose. Downside is that a lot of us have been to Jaipur umpteen times! But Jaipur team could still work out an exciting array of visits and events.
·        Dubai has been suggested - combining with Global Meet, 2017 but it could be at a time when Dubai could be very expensive and it could limit participation. Also, many of us do not see much value in combining with Global meet – particularly those who have attended one of the two Global meets in the past.
·        We could look at northeast but connectivity etc could be big issues.
·        Suggestions are very welcome for any other beach / green resort / location with relevant facilities and infra-structure etc.

Timing:

·        General suggestion for Jaipur is October – before Deepawali as accommodation will be easy and it could be less crowded and weather should be acceptable(???).
·        Same timing could possibly work even if we settle on a different location
·        Issue could be for our NRI friends but December / January anywhere will present many other challenges

Costs / Funding:

·        It is suggested that we go for a good resort even if it is costly, as indicated by Vinod
·        Some apprehension has been expressed that the cost could seem rather high to some of our classmates who may see limited novelty in a location like Jaipur. In a few cases, there could also be affordability / value for money issues. We can possibly overcome this to get max participation by asking for a reasonable basic contribution with many of us chipping in with additional contributions / sponsoring of specific events / meals etc. In some exceptional cases, even the basic charge could be partly reduced but without it becoming general knowledge.

I believe that we could focus on these three basic issues first. As I am currently using an old list of e-mail addresses and not much of the various social media options (Whatsapp, twitter, facebook etc), I request each of you to please share it with as many groups and classmates as feasible.

I'm sorry for the delay in giving the details of the proposed meet at jaipur.

To start the base store work i would like to put up the following points.

(1) we can have the meet in the month of Jan'17 between 10-20th or in Oct 16 before Diwali. Both these months are lean months when accommodation can be available at reasonable rate. In my opinion Jan 17 would be better but it would be a bit cold at this time of the year.

(2) My hotel has 33 rooms which can be made available but this would not serve our purpose as we need 50-60 rooms. Further to make the gathering enjoyable during dinner time we would require a lawn which is not available in my place.

(3) Thus I suggest we go to a resort in the near vicinity of the town. Jaipur has a good number of such resorts which can be booked at a reasonable rate in this period. A package of 2 nights - 3 days would cost around 20-25000 for a couple with all meals. thus the costing has to be agreed upon by all.

(4) I've discussed with Hemant & Hinger also about the proposal and they were also of a slimier idea.

(5) once we agree to the costing. I can workout the details. (Month - Oct 16-Jan 17)

I'm again sorry for the delay which would not happen again and i can assure you a prompt reply.
